Current Activism

PSSD Canada is working on several strategies to achieve recognition, research and awareness for our condition:

Collecting data on Post-SSRI/SNRI Sexual Dysfunction

Let’s get the numbers! Sign up for our online study here

Don’t forget to donate to our research!

Report your symptoms!

Submit an adverse drug response report to Health Canada here

If you are not in Canada find out where to submit an adverse drug response report too, such as the FDA (America) or the NHS (United Kingdom)

Collecting Stories of PSSD sufferers:

This website serves as a platform for people suffering from PSSD to share their experience of this under-reported and all-too-often dismissed condition. We are always looking for submissions to feature in the Our Stories section . Telling the world what happened to us is the best way to raise awareness and will contribute to a wider understanding of PSSD. Stories can be published under a false name to safeguard your privacy and all contact information will be kept strictly confidential. Follow the story guidelines here and email your submission to pssd.action@gmail.com

We call on Health Canada to take action on PSSD by:

  • alerting doctors and patients to the short-term and long-term potential sexual effects of antidepressants

  • improving warnings on labels of all SSRI and SNRI medications

  • changing prescription guidelines so physicians will properly inform all patients of risks

Add your voice! Contact your MP and ask them to tell Health Canada to take action on PSSD. You can use our email template here

Community Building:

We are creating support groups where PSSD sufferers can share common experiences and find strength in community. We run several private Discord servers, including a women-only server, for PSSD sufferers to support each other and co-ordinate action. If you would like to join us on our Discord please contact us for an invite.

Media:

We are always seeking coverage to help spread the word about PSSD and reach out to more sufferers. See our articles:

Finding Professional Support:

People with PSSD often have difficulty finding mental healthcare professionals who are educated on, and sympathetic to, their experiences with this disorder. We are trying to assemble a list of mental healthcare professionals who are willing and able to support people with PSSD. If you are a professional in a relevant field and willing to get involved, please get in touch!

International Co-operation:

PSSD Canada is part of the PFS/PAS/PSSD Alliance, a group of similar conditions caused by the medications Finasteride, Accutane, SSRIs and SNRIs.

We are coordinating with PSSD activism groups in the UK, Germany, Italy and the USA to bring attention to our condition. See related groups:
