Do I have Post-SSRI/SNRI Sexual Dysfunction?

If you have found your way to this website it may be because you are experiencing symptoms of sexual, emotional or cognitive dysfunction after tapering off of an antidepressant.

Unfortunately it may be difficult to find a doctor who can diagnose you because it is a relatively unknown disorder.

You may be told that your symptoms are the result of your mental illness returning, but if you are experiencing marked decrease in sexual functioning compared to how you felt before taking the antidepressant then it is possible your symptoms are caused by the antidepressant. Being told it’s “all in your head” is a common experience for those with PSSD.

We advise you to be cautious when researching your condition on the internet, especially on forums such as Reddit and Yahoo. While there is a large community of PSSD sufferers there who can be a source of support, there can also be negativity and false information. Be careful of anyone who claims to have the cure for PSSD, especially if they are offering it for a price. Likewise, do not blindly believe those proclaiming there is no hope. Not enough is known about PSSD for anyone to be making such definitive statements.
